Can you offer some advice or show me how to.... I have over 200 colour schemes on my store, and whilst a lot of them are multi-colours , a lot of them are not the default colours.
so its 2 questions
When i go into "product variants > Option Color, on the right it only gives me 10 values, Can i add multiple copies of this (for eg 20 of these to create 200 colours? )
Then, i have created a color swatch called "Color|Rose" and this shows correctly on my colours Filter in the side bar, however, it doesn't show in the swatch on the product page, its still a blank white swatch, how do i get these filled in? If i give you this product as example see image, you can see the color selected, and the filter above it, but on the product the swatch is blank.
1. You can create as much
"Option colors" blocks as you need. The theme does not have
restrictions of creating blocks. The blocks limiting is a core
Shopify functionality.
2. You may need to add the same swatch
name in the "Option colors" block as you added for this
product in your Shopify admin.
I checked your store and you have
the swatch name "ColoUr" for this product -
thank you, i didn't notice that, i had changed the side bar spelling as color is american spelling (everywhere is in english speaking world its colour :P ) Didn't realise i hadnt changed it in the product variants so thanks for that. And cool on the max number of colours, but, on question is more a 'could / would be nice to have' is a colour contains . So for eg, select black, and returns all colours that have black & white for example, rather than it be a perfect match, now i know in sql you could do a simple select colours where name %like% for example, but not sure with shopify code if that would be possible, but would be really handy for those of us who have a large catalogue, that rather than have 100s of varients of options, but the primary colours and would look a lot neater.. :) but overall thanks for the quick response and pointing me in the right direction (and yes i did view the video, but with your new version its sometimes hard to follow the older ones with the menu options changing, but it was something as obvious as spelling differences lol :) so thanks again and close me me down now
You can use the filter by product tags that allows you to filter products only by the added tag and not by the product variant.
For e.g., you have products with the color variants: Black & White, True Black etc. You can add a tag "Black" in Shopify admin to these products and add this tag to the Sidebar -> Filters.
So, it will be filtering by the tag and not product variants. Please, read more details how to configure the filter by product tags in our documentation -

Hi, Ardent Lingerie.
You are welcome.

Please, read more details how to configure the filter by product tags in our documentation -
https://mpithemes.gitbook.io/shella-shopify-theme/collections/sidebar/filters
If you want to add a custom color, add a block "Option colors" and paste your custom colors -

And then follow the same steps described above.
Have a nice day!
