My Shopify website is almost complete but has not been launched as yet. I updated it today from 4.7.0 to 4.8.0 as to this video (which I've done previously without any issues), but this time I have noticed a host of issues.
My Shopify Expert created a Split code for my product pages so that I could have more separated TABS and it would separate the information on the following:
- Product Information
- Size Guide
- Garment and Product Care
- Delivery & Return
- Customers Reviews
There were 2 of us who spent a few days working on splitting the codes for over 1,000 products, today those codes have been put back to how they originally were, we are absolutely gutted.
2. The update changed everything on the Product Page that I had my Shopify Expert do and I have paid him for all of these changes:
- Remove 'In stock'
- Remove 'Order in the next... countdown
- Remove Real time # visitor right now
- Change button color on Add to Cart
- Change Spend $150 to Free Shipping to "Spend $150 to get Free Shipping"
Is there a way to reconfigure that with the changes? Does that mean that every time I update the theme it's going to break any coding and changes that we've done? I thought by copying over the settings_data.json from the current file to the new file would ensure any changes would be carried over.

1. If you mean the changes at the theme settings, you may copy theme settings to a new version.
If you edit the theme source code you should merge your code changes manually.
I recommend to use the Git software to track your code changes.
